Everyone is welcome to attend the annual meeting of the Historical Society! At the meeting we’ll review the Society’s accomplishments over the past year and hear some plans for the coming year. We’ll also be electing officers, directors and committee members. You do not have to be a member to attend, but only members can vote. Membership is $5/yr. You can join the Society at the meeting. The museum was closed last summer while we repaired cosmetic cracks in the walls and ceiling that were caused by moving the building. The cracks were fixed, the walls and ceiling were painted, display cases were returned to their spots and everything was dusted and cleaned. The rear of the building was sided and painted. We had two notable acquisitions: a Doodlebug that was created and used by our own highway department in the 1940s, and the huge, first safe used by the Town. Now our Curator and crew are putting the museum exhibits back together and planning Open House hours for this summer. Come to our Annual Meeting. Hear more about our accomplishments and join us as we plan for the coming year. We welcome everyone with a curiosity about the town, or a love of history, or a desire to be part of an organization where every person counts. Please join us, become a member, get involved, or just cheer us on. We look forward to seeing you there.
